Project Netcar was designed
by Drew J. Kaplan in 1996. The concept was to have a vehicle
surf the web, send and receive E-mail while on the road.
Project Netcar took this concept one step further by replacing
the rearview mirror with a 6" color LCD and a rearview camera.
This allowed the driver to continue to see what was behind him while
driving. When the car comes to a complete stop, the driver
can switch the color monitor into surfing mode and browse the web, or send
and receive E-mail. Netcar also has the capability to watch
movies through the 6" LCD monitor with an on-board DVD player.
Audio for all functions of the car is heard through the sound system.
